Oath for building joyful community

A reception program for high school graduates took place On Saturday, 13th May at 3.00 pm in St. Mary’s Junior School Auditorium, Jamalkhan.

More than 400 SSC passed students from St. Placid’s School & College and St. Scholastica’s High School of Chittagong, Miriam Ashram High School of Diang, Brother Andre High School of Noakhali and Don Bosco High School of Bandarban participated in the program which was jointly organized by the Chittagong Catholic Archdiocesan Education Commission and Caritas Formation of Youth & Teachers Program (FYTP).

Graduates took oath with lightened candles to bring joy in the hearts of poor and oppressed and build a joyful community. The event got very much festive with the bit of St. St. Scholastica’s High School band, various country songs & dances.

The reception program is presided over by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Chittagong Archdiocese Most Rev. Moses M. Costa, CSC. Chairman of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Prof. Shaheda Islam was present as the chief guest and Judge of Pirojpur Land Tribunal Mohammad Mahabubur Rahaman as the guest of honour. Most Rev. Archbishop Moses M. Costa, CSC conducted the oath taking of students to become enlightened and joyful person and build a joyful community.

He addressed to the succeed students saying, “…” Students promised that they will bring joy to the hearts of vulnerable and oppressed people. Then the honourable guests distributed certificates among the graduates. Chief guest Prof. Shaheda Islam said, “…” Guest of Honor Mohammad Mahabubur Rahaman said, “…”

From 5 Church run high schools of the Chittagong Catholic Archiocese, 802 students passed SSC exam in 2017. Among them 177 secured GPA 5.00 and average passing out rate from 5 high schools is 96%.
