NUS Celebrates its 25 Year’s Silver Jubilee
Today on 14 August 2017 Nari Unnayan Shakti (NUS) celebrated 25 years anniversary of the organization. As a community based non-government organization NUS crossed over the silver jubilee to serve around 15,000 people in 19 districts of the country.
NUS organized a reunion with General and Executive Body members and Staffs of NUS, Dhaka Office. To observe the day with befitting manner a discussion meeting and cultural program also arranged at NUS office premise.
The objectives of the reunion were to discuss on success and achievements including human rights issues of NUS in the past 25 years. In future what steps can be taken as development works NUS received recommendations in this issue from participants.
NUS Chairperson Sajeda Begum spokes on the occasion. She addressed to continue NUS’s human rights activities and acknowledged their valuable contributions to the organization.
Dr, Afroja Parvin, Executive Director of NUS mentioned many obstacles, achievements of the organization those were very challenging to overcome. She stated achievement and progress would not have been possible without dedicated work of our management team and continued support of Members of NUS. Dr.
Afroja conveyed her appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to all Development Partners and Donor Agencies, concerned Ministries and all the members of Governing Body for their devoted role, reposing trust and unwavering confidence still there are many challenges facing by the NUS Team Management.
Other discussants were NUS’s Project Coordinator Shaheda Wahab and Abdul Momin and Field Officer Shahanara Begum. The event ends with a beautiful cultural program by the participation of NUS staffs and Committee members.
